Best Pokémon Card Scanner Apps in 2026: CardGrader.AI vs PokeScope vs DittoDex vs Guardian TCG vs Eyevo

Updated September 16, 2026. Ratings and feature claims are taken from each app's own App Store listing on September 15, 2026; we re-check them monthly. First published August 18, 2025 as a Ludex vs Collx comparison.

If you just want the short answer: every app below can identify a Pokémon card from a photo and show a price. They differ in what happens after the scan. Pick by what you actually do with your cards.

How we compared them

We did not run a lab test and we are not going to pretend we did. This page compares what each app says it does on its own store listing, what it costs, and the one thing we can speak to first-hand, which is what CardGrader.AI does. Where an app's listing makes a claim we cannot verify, we quote it as its claim.

What matters in a Pokémon card scanner

Identification

Can it tell a base Charizard from the 30th Anniversary reprint, a reverse holo from a regular, a Japanese print from an English one? Every app on this list claims camera identification; the differences show up on edge cases, so scan the same tricky card in two apps before you trust either.

The price behind the scan

"Value" can mean a listing price, a marketplace average, or actual sold prices. Sold prices are what your card would fetch; listing prices are what sellers hope for.

What it tells you to do next

For most collectors the money decision is not "what is it worth" but "should I grade it, and at what grade would it pay off". Only one app on this list is built around that question.

The free tier

All five are free to download. Read each listing for what the free tier actually includes.

CardGrader.AI: for the "should I grade this" question

CardGrader.AI is our app, so read this section as the maker's description. What it does: you photograph the front and back, the AI identifies the card, then estimates a grade from centering, corners, edges and surface, and shows real sold prices for the card raw and at each grade so you can see whether grading fees would pay off. It covers Pokémon, other trading card games and sports cards in one app.

The part most relevant to this comparison: the Pokémon card scanner and value checker on this site is free to use in a browser with no account and no app. If you want the grade estimate and the grading calculator, that is in the app (free credits to start, then a subscription).

What it is not: a grading service, and not affiliated with PSA, BGS or CGC. The grade is an estimate meant to help you decide what to submit.

PokeScope

PokeScope's listing describes it as a "Pokémon scanner and card value tool" with an AI scanner that "works even through binder sleeves and protective cases", real-time card data and collection organisation. It has the largest rating base of the five (2,746 ratings at 4.6) and has been in the store since 2024. Free with in-app purchases. It does not mention grading. If you have a big binder to catalogue and want the most-reviewed option, this is the one people compare everything else to.

Card Value Scanner (DittoDex)

DittoDex's listing leads with speed and price: a "lightning-fast AI card scanner" that identifies "holos, reverse holos, graded slabs, sleeved cards, any orientation, even partially covered", scans "an entire stack in one session", and is "100% ad-free". Its rating is the highest in this group at 4.84 on 891 ratings, and on Google Play it carries by far the most reviews of any app here. Pokémon only. No grading. If you scan a lot of cards quickly and want prices without ads, it is a strong pick.

Guardian TCG

Guardian's angle is the price sources: its listing says it compares "TCGPlayer, eBay, and Cardmarket in one place", tracks "market movers", imports collections from TCGPlayer, Collectr and PriceCharting, and covers "14+ games". It also lists "AI grading insights to decide what to submit". Its rating base is small (136 ratings, 4.0). If you buy and sell across marketplaces and want the three prices side by side, that is its reason to exist.

Eyevo TCG

Eyevo's listing is about variants: it says it tracks "every printing" (normal, holo, reverse holo, Cosmos, Poké Ball, Master Ball, 1st Edition, Unlimited, stamps) with a separate price for each, and shows graded prices across PSA, BGS, CGC, SGC, ACE and TAG. On-device identification. Newest and smallest rating base here (64 ratings, 4.6). If variant pricing is your thing, it is the one built for it.

Which one should you download?

  • You want to know whether a card is worth grading: CardGrader.AI.
  • You want to catalogue a large collection with the most-reviewed app: PokeScope.
  • You want fast, ad-free scanning and price tracking: DittoDex.
  • You want three marketplace prices side by side: Guardian TCG.
  • You care about which printing you have: Eyevo.

Two of them are free to try without installing anything: our web scanner, and DittoDex's ad-free free tier is the lowest-friction app install.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need an app to check a Pokémon card's value?

No. The CardGrader.AI web scanner identifies a card from a photo and shows its market value in the browser. Apps add collection tracking and, in our case, grade estimates.

Are the grades these apps give the same as a PSA grade?

No. Any app grade is an estimate from photos. Grading companies inspect the physical card. Use app grades to decide what to submit, not as the grade.

Which app has the most reviews?

PokeScope on the App Store (2,746 ratings on September 15, 2026); on Google Play, Card Value Scanner has the most reviews by a wide margin. Rating counts tell you how many people use an app, not how well it identifies your card.
